Business Development Representative

Description

Responsible for generating business opportunities within defined market segments which consists of manufacturing facilities, educational institutions and other organizations and agencies related to manufacturing training. It is the responsibility of this position to maximize Tooling U-SME long-term overall sales goals. As appropriate, the responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

  • Prospect and call-on targeted lists of companies, schools and agencies to promote an interest in Tooling U-SME.
  • Research and identify new prospect opportunities through the use of technology tools, social media, newsfeeds and other methods.
  • Research and identify key contacts and funding sources within new and existing accounts and provide reports to assist new lead generation to sales team.
  • Assist in the creation and messaging of targeted email campaigns.
  • Effectively deliver guided messaging through cold-calling and call-response that identifies eligible prospects.
  • Qualify and properly hand-off leads to appropriate sales team member.
  • Assist in the development, tracking and reporting of business development campaigns and qualify incoming leads for the sales team.
  • Performs additional prospecting functions via email and other media
  • Use professional communication, research, interviewing, marketing and sales skills to call on prospect opportunities across the US and Canada.
  • Developing ways to improve our organization and internal processes
  • Developing and delivering SF.com reports for both management and the sales team on a consistent basis
  • Help ensure our data within SF.com is up to date for marketing and sales
  • Meet milestone deadlines directed by management
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing concepts and how to effectively apply them
  • Ability to think strategically to identify, generate, nurture and qualify leads to turn them into sales ready opportunities.
  • Must be motivated by cold calling, asking probing questions and gathering information
  • Aptitude for overcoming objections and effectively communicating value propositions to key decision makers and influencers
  • Strong acumen for setting meetings for sales teams in a variety of territories
