Associate Director, Digital Product Manager (Insurance)

Job Description

Creative Circle

Associate Director, Digital Product Manager - Insurance (Optional Products)

Position Overview
Our client is a well-established consumer financial services company undergoing a significant digital transformation. They are expanding their Digital Product organization to build connected, customer-centric experiences across lending, credit, insurance, and financial wellness.

The Associate Director, Digital Product Manager is a senior individual contributor role within the Digital Product Team, responsible for defining and driving the digital strategy for the organization's optional insurance products. This role does not manage a team and does not have a dedicated scrum team; instead, it requires a highly experienced product leader who can work across domains and teams, scope new initiatives, and influence delivery through strong product thinking and stakeholder alignment.

This role owns the end-to-end digital insurance experience across web and mobile, with a focus on optimizing customer flows at scale, improving conversion and engagement, and ensuring compliant, intuitive experiences for millions of customers. The Product Principal partners closely with senior leaders, Insurance stakeholders, Technology, Design, Analytics, Compliance, and Operations to rationalize insurance offerings, align products to the right customer moments, and drive measurable business impact.

This is not a sales, agent, or advisory role. Success requires deep experience in digital product management within insurance or heavily regulated financial services, comfort operating with ambiguity, and the ability to create clarity through strong roadmaps, experimentation, and executive communication.

This is a hybrid opportunity, onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in New York, NY, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, or Irving, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior product owner and subject-matter leader for digital insurance products, spanning discovery, delivery, and optimization.
  • Define and communicate a clear product vision, roadmap, and milestones aligned to business goals and customer outcomes.
  • Work across multiple teams and domains (without a dedicated scrum team) to scope initiatives, align priorities, and drive execution.
  • Lead efforts to rationalize insurance products, ensuring the right offerings are aligned to the right customer journeys and moments.
  • Optimize B2C customer flows for optional insurance products, including enrollment and servicing, at scale for millions of customers.
  • Identify drop-off points and friction across the digital journey and drive improvements through data-informed decisions.
  • Design and run experimentation and A/B testing, including defining hypotheses, success metrics, and learning agendas.
  • Partner closely with Design to test and refine UX, including iterative design tweaks that improve engagement and conversion.
  • Collaborate with Technology and platform teams to deliver solutions within complex, regulated environments.
  • Use data to frame conversations, measure impact, and clearly articulate business outcomes (e.g., conversion, engagement, efficiency).
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, influencing senior leaders through clear storytelling and product rationale.
  • Ensure all digital insurance experiences meet regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain product documentation, roadmaps, and workflows using Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Product Manager owning customer-facing digital products.
  • Senior-level experience as an individual contributor (e.g., Product Principal, Lead PM, Group IC) comfortable operating without formal team ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience working on insurance products (e.g., enrollment, policy management, servicing, claims, or product alignment); open to various insurance types.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business models, processes, and regulatory constraints.
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or other heavily regulated industries strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to create roadmaps, define milestones, and drive outcomes across distributed teams.
  • Experience optimizing high-scale B2C digital journeys with large customer volumes.
  • Hands-on experience with experimentation frameworks, funnel analysis, drop-rate analysis, and engagement metrics.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to frame problems using data and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Design, Engineering, Analytics, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence required.
  • Experience at recognized insurance or financial services companies.
