Corporate Risk Independent risk management is Corporate Risk, helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The focus is on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. Corporate Risk helps our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. Corporate Compliance Wells Fargo Compliance is the company's compliance second line of defense function, providing company- wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise. The Role Within Wells Fargo Compliance, the Enterprise Testing group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Enterprise Testing is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group- specific testing. The Enterprise Testing - Wholesale Testing & Validation Leader will specifically be responsible for the following: Lead and manage a Testing & Validation team to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and business processes to manage and mitigate Operational and Compliance risks attendant to the Wholesale and International groups, and assess the effectiveness of completed corrective actions. Accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the testing and validation program covering, but not limited to, the following risk types: Financial Crimes, Regulatory Compliance, Information Security, Business Continuity Planning, Process/Transaction, Conduct, and Product/Service. Participate in the development and design of methodologies and standards for testing and validation activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Corporate Risk Frameworks, and ensure effective and appropriate Testing and Validation coverage through the maintenance of the Testing & Validation inventory for risk programs, risks, and controls. Test execution of appropriate assurance activities in the business units designed to ensure that business processes associated with managing compliance or operational risk are performing effectively. Lead and actively participate as a key member of the Head of Testing & Validation's leadership team and other risk management and compliance committees as appropriate, and participate as a representative on various business- or risk-based governance committees. Foster an environment that ensures strong communication and cooperation across the three lines of defense, including business line leadership, Legal, Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk and other corporate stakeholders to facilitate transparency, balance and credible challenge. Sustain a strong risk culture that identifies and provides oversight and escalation of existing and emerging compliance and operational risk issues across business groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions; and ensure that escalated issues receive immediate senior management attention. Create a culture of excellence by proactively attracting, retaining and developing a team of talented and diverse compliance professionals to support the execution of the Testing and Validation program. Required Qualifications 12+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 12+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 6+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both 10+ years of management experience Desired Qualifications Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner Advanced Microsoft Office skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Other Desired Qualifications Extensive experience designing and executing enterprise testing and validation programs, including the development of consistent standards and testing methodologies for compliance and operational risk testing. 8 years of experience with Wholesale and/or International businesses. 5 years or experience leading large teams. Demonstrative experience transforming organizations that have included automation. Expert-level knowledge of industry standards and best practices around monitoring, testing, assurance and risk management processes. Deep understanding of the ever-evolving governance and regulatory environments. Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results. Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork. An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making. Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and constituencies, including business leaders, legal, audit and multiple U.S. and non-U.S. regulators. Proven experience establishing a large-scale vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership areas through effective communication and successful delivery against goals and objectives. Experience driving large-scale organizational change. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, ensuring proper staffing and expertise, and manage the establishment of major policies and relevant compliance programs across major business divisions within a large and complex organization.
