Description T he Group Director, Events play a critical role in developing creative and strategic event solutions for SME Events. These individuals are integral SME Events leaders with responsibility for developing and mentoring their teams. The Group Director, Events is accountable for leading event strategy and the overall delivery of their assigned group portfolio. This position will lead and manage a team of individuals and collaborate with cross-functional event teams to deliver on strategic event outcomes. Description Responsible for writing and editing original content, including features and columns, and supporting the editorial team by managing the flow of materials within the department. This role travels to cover industry events as needed, ensures adherence to SME Media's style guidelines, and assists in the production of content for print and digital platforms. MAJOR FUNCTIONS: • Research, write and post feature articles and columns as assigned • Supports the editorial team by copy editing and managing the flow of materials among editorial, graphics, and marketing teams. • Assists Senior Editors in maintaining the website by publishing content, collaborating with authors, and supporting the site's overall design and functionality • Collaborates with Senior Editors to maintain the editorial calendar and ensure timely delivery of content • Places copy from contributing editors in InCopy.
