The Paraprofessional will promote the achievement of students’ educational goals and behavioral objectives by providing the necessary support and professional interaction within the scope of all assigned duties. To assist the Principal, classroom Teacher or Social Worker in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may effectively learn. The Certified School Nurse promotes health and safety in the school environment and provides health services to students, faculty and staff. Assists with the teaching of sound health practices. Must have demonstrated experience in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures and knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues and wellness education. Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies. The Therapist designs and supervises a safe environment and positive residential treatment program. Establishes and maintains a positive, strengths-based, developmentally appropriate therapeutic milieu that is in keeping with the values and clinical treatment philosophy of the Agency. Meets all administrative, legal and program requirements as mandated by all operating contracts including, but not limited to DCPP and COA.
