How You Will ContributeYou will lead Sanitation, Pest Control and related food safety programs at Tate’s Bake Shop on Long Island, New York. This includes developing the overall strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading teams and ensuring day-to-day operational execution. You will provide both leadership and technical guidance in the areas of Sanitation, PEM and Pest Control compliance. You will also develop and implement strategies that emphasize teamwork, safety, and best-in-class practices with a “consumer first” mindset.
Job Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise in the areas of equipment and infrastructure cleaning, chemical application and management, PEM, sanitation procedures, related regulatory compliance and hygienic design.
- Support overall success of the Food Safety, GMP and Sanitation agenda of the manufacturing plant, warehouse and retail shop. This will be done by ensuring site compliance and management of the Sanitation and GMP programs.
- Responsible for the Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program, Water testing and the Clean Equipment Swab programs for the site, including performance tracking, trend analysis and addressing opportunities with CAPA
- Manage the Integrated Pest Control Program by reviewing, maintaining, and updating Integrated Pest Control Program Standard Operating Procedures
- Support QA Manager in keeping the site HACCP Plan updated by ensuring relevant Hazard Analysis and process flow diagrams are accurate.
- Lead Hygienic Design Review of existing equipment and infrastructure; execute the Hygienic Design Assessment for new projects and equipment
- Conduct RCA and Corrective action reporting in the event of program, compliance deviations. Conduct escalations to Food Safety and coordinate actions as needed.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement activities related to the Sanitation Program. Includes MSS updates, updating SSOPs and providing training to plant staff as required. Conduct Sanitation & pest control audits as necessary.
- Responsible for improving the Master Sanitation Schedule, executing the appropriate change management activities and verifying implementation
- Owns CAPA completion associated with ownership areas
- Responsible for reviewing, maintaining, and updating current Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and developing new as required
- Responsible for training of production and sanitation associates on proper cleaning practices
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of all chemical, sanitation, PEM and Pest Control supplies, as well as vendor management of related service providers
- Work closely with EHS Manager, Operations, and BU Food Safety to assure that all safety protocols are adhered to when executing sanitation, PEM and pest control programs.
- Assist in all third-party audits; facilitate plant readiness and inspection process flow
- Responsible for QCMS, FSSC programs and all other duties as assigned by the QA Manager
What You Will BringFood Safety and Program Compliance Leadership, including Sanitation and Pest Control expertise, in addition to proven experience leading hourly teams.
- Expertise in Pest Control Program Management and directing PCO contractors
- Strong foundational knowledge & experience in managing food manufacturing Sanitation and Pest Control Programs in a post-FSMA environment
- Demonstrated HACCP ownership and plan execution
- Demonstrated leadership and execution of Environmental Monitoring programs
- Strong understanding and application of GMP Requirements in a food manufacturing facility.
- Ability to influence, engage, and motivate site teams (operations, maintenance, sanitation) to execute quality initiatives and deliver strong results
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
- Engages key stakeholders in strategy alignment and implementation
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Adaptable - must handle multiple situations at one time and be able to prioritize for maximum efficiency.

More about this role Education / Certifications:- Must have 2-year degree in Food Sanitation and/or Food Science, Technical or Vocational or equivalent professional experience.
- HACCP, PCQI certifications preferred
Job specific requirements:- 3 years+ working in a similar role required
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Sanitation management and technical experience in food manufacturing required; dairy or similar sector preferred
- Pest Control program management experience strongly preferred
- Position is full-time, in-person, and flexibility is required. Applicants must be available to work any shift, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with known allergens such as: milk, eggs, nuts (tree nuts), wheat and soy is required
- Experience in developing capability in teams: technical and interpersonal skill development

Salary and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $133,815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
