JOB DESCRIPTION
We are scaling our Salesforce practice with a hyper-focus on MedTech and medical device manufacturers, delivering solutions built on Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud for MedTech. We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Consultant with deep Salesforce platform expertise, medical device domain experience, and a proven ability to design and deliver scalable, compliant, device-centric solutions.
This role will play a critical part in shaping solution architecture and delivery across the medical device lifecycle-from provider and field engagement through inventory, service, and post-market activities. The consultant will guide decisions on out-of-the-box vs. custom capabilities while delivering end-to-end implementations leveraging Life Sciences Cloud for MedTech, OmniStudio, Data Cloud (Data 360), and core Salesforce capabilities. Experience with Veeva, field service, or regulated MedTech environments is a strong plus. Employees who are not actively deployed on a client project and reside within a one-hour commute of an Apex branch office are expected to work onsite at least once per week.
RESPONSIBLITIES
MedTech Solution Design & Delivery
- Lead the design and implementation of Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud for MedTech solutions aligned to device-specific use cases such as:
- Provider and IDN relationship management (HCP/HCO 360)
- Field sales and clinical specialist workflows
- Field inventory, trunk stock, and consignment management
- Device service, support, and complaint intake
- Post-market engagement and operational insights
- Translate MedTech business and regulatory requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions, prioritizing standard industry capabilities where possible
- Make informed decisions on when to use out-of-the-box MedTech features vs. custom components, balancing compliance, performance, and long-term maintainability
Salesforce Platform & Industry Capabilities
- Design and implement solutions using:
- Salesforce core platform (Sales, Service, Experience Cloud)
- Life Sciences Cloud MedTech data model and industry objects
- OmniStudio (FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, OmniScripts) for guided field, service, and operational workflows
- Contribute to and govern device-centric Salesforce data models, supporting product, provider, account, and asset visibility across teams
Data, Inventory & Integration
- Design data architectures leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) to support:
- Unified provider, account, and device views
- Inventory visibility and analytics across field and enterprise locations
- Operational insights for forecasting, utilization, and risk
- Lead or support integrations with ERP, supply chain, service, and quality systems using APIs and event-driven patterns
- Partner with data teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and regulatory readiness
MedTech Compliance & Quality Considerations
- Apply best practices related to medical device regulatory and quality environments, including:
- GxP and quality system alignment
- Data privacy and consent management
- Auditability and traceability across commercial and service processes
- Leverage prior MedTech delivery experience to identify regulatory, operational, and data risks early in the lifecycle
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with MedTech commercial, service, operations, and IT stakeholders to define solution roadmaps and delivery approaches
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams
- Support client workshops, solution walkthroughs, and architecture reviews
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of Salesforce implementation experience
- Practical experience with:
- Salesforce platform configuration and customization
- Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative automation
- OmniStudio
- Salesforce data modeling and governance
- Strong judgment around extending the platform vs. leveraging standard MedTech capabilities
- Prior experience delivering MedTech or medical device projects (manufacturer, distributor, or consulting partner)
- Familiarity with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud for MedTech use cases and capabilities
- Experience with Veeva CRM / Vault, field service, or quality-adjacent systems is a strong plus
- Experience designing and implementing Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) solutions
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, and event-driven architectures
- Ability to understand business process, solution and help breakdown the work (technical)
- Experience and strong understanding of Salesforce best practice of industry and apply them into context of client requirements (with existing best practice)
- Experience working across multiple product teams in solution collaboration
- Experience with broader software engineering scope from design, test, build, code review, deploy.
- Experience working in self-organizing agile teams with outcome-oriented mindset
- Expectation is that this person will lead and will also help with some development
- High level of independence and autonomy in producing deliverables.
- Positive relationship builder able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
- Strong analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to engineering and business partners.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer, OmniStudio Consultant, Integration Architecture Designer) preferred.
- Experience working in regulated MedTech environments preferred.
- Consulting or systems integrator background preferred.
- Experience contributing to MedTech solution standards, accelerators, or reference architectures preferred.
