JOB DESCRIPTION

The Executive Practice Leader (EPL) is a senior leadership role accountable for the successful execution of client engagements across Apex's portfolio of AI Data Center projects in the Cloud & Infrastructure Capability. In this role, you will drive engagement excellence, deepen client relationships, and foster a high-performance delivery culture. As EPL, you will serve as a strategic delivery leader driving cross-functional collaboration across internal teams and business units. You will lead and mentor internal practice teams to ensure all engagements are in alignment with defined pre-sales objectives and goals, statements of work (SOW) and to the highest quality and standards.


This role requires a blend of strategic vision, practice leadership rigor, and technical depth. The EPL plays a critical role in shaping and directly influencing client satisfaction while contributing to Apex's overall growth.


Strategic Leadership & Delivery Excellence

  • Define and execute the engagement delivery strategy in support of GTM and growth objectives to support AI Data Centers.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle-from scoping and estimation through delivery, acceptance, and post-implementation support.
  • Responsible for building practice maturity, establishing and continuously improving repeatable delivery methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, assets and governance processes.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Client Engagement & Satisfaction

  • Serve as one of the executive sponsors for key client accounts, ensuring proactive communication, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with the sales and solution leadership teams to shape solution approaches during pre-sales.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction and long-term relationships through consistent delivery excellence.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Drive P&L and gross margin performance through engagement team structure, ensuring projects meet profitability targets while maintaining quality.
  • Implement resource planning and utilization strategies to maximize efficiency and talent engagement.
  • Responsible for managing delivery capacity based on sales pipeline and market demand.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Grow, Lead, mentor, and develop delivery leadership (e.g., practice directors, managing consultants, solution architects).
  • Grow Practice depth by attracting and retaining top consulting and technical talent, building a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Drive professional development to advance delivery skills and domain expertise by supporting the creation of internal accelerators, assets, and proof-of-concept (POC) demos.

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of delivery artifacts that support and maintain best practices, standardization, and consistency in delivery.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes to uphold the firm's standards across all projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology consulting or systems integration, with at least 8 years in delivery leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex, multi-million-dollar technology projects and programs across AI data center build out, expansion, retrofit and traditional infrastructure domains.
  • Deep technical experience overseeing delivery for complex large-scale projects in support of scaling AI infrastructure
  • Experience building and scaling consulting practices, including developing and implementing delivery methodologies, frameworks, and governance processes that drive standardization, repeatability, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to align practice offerings, delivery standards, and go-to-market strategies with major hyperscale customers.
  • Experience in delivering AI infrastructure projects for hyperscaler customers preferred.
  • Experience managing delivery P&L for a consulting business with experience in revenue growth, profitability improvement and operational efficiency
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into execution (i.e. ability to operation in a hands-on leadership capacity).
  • Strong Executive-level client relationship management and influencing skills
  • Advanced knowledge of project/program management methodologies (Agile, hybrid, and traditional waterfall)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets.
  • Expected travel up to 20%

  • Experience with hyperscaler operational processes in AI data center domains.
  • Experience managing 200+ technical personnel across multiple US regions and
  • Experience in delivering projects
  • Implement unified processes for rack integration, cabling, documentation, optical testing, NOC workflows, and FieldOps dispatch.
  • Hire and develop up to 300+ engineers, technicians, managers, and specialists across regions, covering FieldOps, NetOps, Rack Integration, Projects, Repairs, and Optical services.
