Service Designer

Position Overview
Our Fortune 100 oil and gas client in Houston, Texas, is looking for a Service Designer with a strong background in research to join their team on a 6-month contract with a high likelihood to extend. This position is 40 hours a week and on-site 5 days a week at their Houston office.

The ideal candidate is a UX Designer with experience managing product development from research through delivery. The ideal candidate will be skilled in UX research, prototyping, stakeholder engagement, usability testing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to gather insights on user needs and behaviors.
  • Create journey maps to visualize user interactions and identify pain points.
  • Apply design thinking methodologies to develop service concepts and solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define service requirements and align on goals.
  • Develop prototypes to test and validate service ideas with users.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Continuously iterate on services based on user feedback and usability testing results.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in UX design, UX research, or a hybrid role
  • Expert knowledge of user research (planning, execution, analysis, reporting)
  • Knowledge of prototyping tools Figma, Sketch
  • Strong skills in journey mapping and user research.
  • Proficiency in design thinking and service design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with service design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with prototyping tools and techniques.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience with wireframing and interaction design is desirable.
  • Strong visual communication skills to convey design concepts.
  • Background working in matrixed or enterprise environments

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
