Our Financial Services client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their team for the next 12 months, 40 hours/week.
This role is preferably hybrid onsite 3 days a week in St. Louis, MO. Open to remote for the perfect candidate.
Role Summary
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives. This role is focused on supporting the transition from the current ERP system (Peoplesoft) to Oracle Cloud HCM, with particular emphasis on payroll-related implementation activities. The Senior Business Analyst will gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements, guide teams through testing and training activities, support new reporting needs, and help drive successful delivery through the full SDLC process. This position requires strong technical aptitude and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable system solutions.
Top Must Have Skills
Strong technical background with the ability to understand system behavior, integrations, data flows, and dependencies
Experience supporting ERP transitions, ideally involving Oracle Cloud HCM or similar HR/payroll platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently drive requirements gathering, clarification, and documentation with minimal supervision
Prior experience working closely with payroll teams and supporting payroll-related system changes or implementations
Ability to develop and manage functional and data requirements with structure and precision
Self-motivated, assertive, and able to challenge assumptions to uncover accurate business needs
Additional Qualifications
Experience building reports in an enterprise system; Oracle Cloud reporting experience is ideal but not required
Ability to support and execute system testing cycles, including test case creation and validation
Experience assisting with user training or preparing training materials during system implementations
Background working with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, PMs, and other analysts
Ability to work effectively across global teams and multiple time zones
Basic knowledge of financial services is helpful; strong technical foundation is essential
Ability to provide guidance to peers, share knowledge, and support issue analysis and resolution
Highly adaptable, flexible, collaborative, and able to work with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to define requirements for the transition from Peoplesoft to Oracle Cloud HCM
Support payroll-related project activities, including gathering requirements, validating system behavior, and ensuring process alignment in the new platform
Document, track, and manage functional and data requirements with clarity and accuracy
Develop or support the creation of system reports in Oracle Cloud HCM; build reporting expertise over time
Plan, organize, and conduct requirement walkthroughs with business and technical stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and sign-off
Participate in testing cycles by creating test scenarios, executing tests, documenting results, and driving defect resolution
Assist in preparing user training materials and supporting training sessions for new system functionality
Identify opportunities to streamline or improve business processes through technology solutions
Collaborate with global teams including NY and India, ensuring alignment across time zones
Work across the SDLC to ensure requirements are accurately implemented and delivered successfully
Provide technical assistance and mentorship to peers as needed
