Responsibilities: The Manager, Human Capital is primarily responsible for all regional human resource functions including, but not limited to employee relations, performance management, legal compliance, and policy implementation. This position will support corporate operations by working in partnership with corporate management to identify, develop, and retain talent to support Wiley’s short and long term business goals. Other responsibilities include: • Assist corporate leadership in managing performance and developing talent. • Maintain positive employee relations, respond to employee concerns, and provide guidance and counsel to campus staff and faculty. • Accurately diagnose organizational issues, develop potential solutions, and recommend changes to management as appropriate to retain and motivate employees. • Travel to other facilities to provide local HR support, address issues, and conduct training as needed. • Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of enrollment/sales forecasts; course development; marketing, student retention and student services • Reporting key business indicators weekly and monthly to the Partnership Director. • Counsel/advise corporate management on all aspects of employee relations, which include but are not limited to hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions, and terminations, to ensure proper documentation is followed as well as any legal ramifications are considered. • Support and implement HR functional initiatives and manage various programs within the region. • Answer employee questions regarding benefits such as group insurance, sick and vacation leave, 401(k), worker’s compensation, and other company offered benefits. • Answer employee questions regarding benefits such as group insurance, sick and vacation leave, 401(k), worker’s compensation, and other company offered benefits. • Conduct new employee orientation. • Investigate employee complaints, interviewing all parties involved and assisting in the preparation of material and evidence for organization to use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Utilize corporate legal counsel’s resources when necessary. • Review and process unemployment compensation claims, attending hearings, and advising supervisors and managers. • Assist/consult with Senior Leadership in writing/delivering of presentations to corporate officers regarding human resources policies, practices, and programs. • Oversee the maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. • Oversee the annual Employee Survey, Wachman Scholarship Program, New Employee Luncheon, and Harlan Award processes. • Oversee maintenance of the HRIS database. • Oversee relationships with outside vendors. • Supervise Associate HR Generalist and HR Coordinator.
