Our Financial Services client is seeking a UX Designer to join their team for the next 18 months, 40 hours/week. This role is hybrid onsite 3-4 days a week in Austin, TX.
Role Summary
We are seeking a mid-level User Experience Designer to join our team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on creating digital and email design patterns, reusable components, and interactive user experiences. As part of the UX Strategy team, you will contribute to a digital design system (DDS) that enables web page builders to deliver intuitive, coherent, and efficient public-facing experiences. This position is ideal for a high-performing individual contributor who is passionate about design systems, UX best practices, and collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Top Must Have Skills
5+ years of experience as a UX Designer or related role
Experience working within a digital design system (DDS) and understanding atomic design principles
Proficiency in Figma, including creating components and documenting work
Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and composition
Experience working with Agile teams and using Jira
Understanding of current WCAG accessibility standards
Ability to lead discovery work on new design patterns across web, email, and mobile
Additional Qualifications
Experience working with content management systems (CMS)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design reasoning
Detail-oriented with strong presentation abilities
Ability to absorb feedback and pivot quickly when needed
Comfortable working on a distributed team operating in a unified workflow
Experience using data and UX research to inform and iterate on design decisions
Responsibilities
Design dynamic, interactive digital experiences and web applications, including lead generation forms, calculators, and mobile-responsive interfaces
Build new DDS components and enhance existing ones in Figma
Develop detailed documentation for developers, publishers, and system users to support accurate implementation
Work independently when required while incorporating feedback from UXDs and developers
Follow established protocols for component design, file organization, and brand guidelines
Collaborate with front-end developers to bring designs to life
Partner with UX Researchers to test designs and components with end users
Advocate for the design system within the organization and with external partners
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
