Technician, Sr. I&C - Chattahoochee Hydro Group

This position will provide support to maintain control systems and associated equipment (electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic) necessary in the operation of hydroelectric power plants. These systems include digital/analog controls, power circuits, control devices on plant equipment outside of the plant control room as well as instrumentation in the control room, and protective relaying. This position also requires the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and update the plant supervisory control and data acquisition system. This position also manages the inventory of parts and supplies for the plant for the I&C Department. In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility and the willingness to perform other duties assisting other crafts.

Educational Requirements, Job Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Two-year technical school degree/certificate in industrial maintenance/electronics or equivalent military experience is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience in the instrument and controls field for power plants is required with extensive experience in digital controls systems, GE Fanuc PLCs, Cimplicity and Ovation is desired Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze critical situations, determine solutions, and implement solutions in a safe manner Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, email, Maximo, etc.) Ability to analyze and determine current and future operation conditions Detailed knowledge of plant control and data acquisition systems desired Extensive LAN/WAN networking knowledge as well as advanced computer skills Ability to effectively communicate in groups and one-on-one Must be able to troubleshoot complex electronic systems Must be able to support a 24/7 schedule, including holiday and back shift work when necessary Must be a self-directed individual Able to perform essential job function Support and maintain Compliance with Cyber Security requirements Support TP&S with current and future capital projects This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to all safety sensitive requirements.
