JOB DESCRIPTION

Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to act as a Program Manager, Internal Practice Consultant within our Consulting Practice as part of our Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. This role is best suited for someone with a deep understanding of organizational operating models, various Agile frameworks and best practices, to support all elements of the enterprise, including tools, processes and people perspectives. An ideal candidate shows a passion for mentoring, communicates clearly, and leverages tact in dealing with all levels of personnel while creating a compelling vision of the end game. This role will lead engagements, influencing people, leaders and management that directly interface with and oversee transformations.

The Lead Consultant will bring practical, high-level proficiency across Adobe Experience Cloud, specifically Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). They will guide journey design and release planning, coordinate AEM content workflows and personalization, and partner with analysts to establish CJA reporting and performance KPIs. The Lead Consultant will also provide subject matter expertise and will help to mentor Apex Systems' internal Consultants in their career growth and development. This role will be responsible for meeting client deliverables and internal consulting practice contributions and leadership. This role may require travel. Employees who are not actively deployed on a client project and reside within a one-hour commute of an Apex branch office are expected to work onsite at least once per week.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Build strong client, industry, and technical community relationships and represent Apex Systems as leaders in Industry and Professional events and communities. Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate expert-level technical knowledge, skills, and effective professional consulting skills. Serve as a subject matter expert. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
  • Provide thought leadership to inspire others about agile principles and their benefits, create an engagement roadmap, communication plan, and any necessary reports for client delivery.
  • Manage the day-to-day engagement delivery including Engagement Kick-off (Launch) process, Engagement Delivery Responsibility Matrix review, financial and risk management, sales and engagement practice support, and manage client expectations in conjunction with Solution Sales Executives.
  • Manage the day-to-day project delivery and Project Team resources from origination to completion. Accountable for staff planning, selection, hiring, project onboarding, performance management, general employee relations, corrective action, and offboarding in close collaboration with Talent Strategy, Account Leadership, Practice Consultants, and Delivery - Analysts.
  • Schedule and facilitate Internal Business Reviews and internal cadences with stakeholders and collaborate effectively to manage quality of delivery.
  • Manage client expectations and related client communications, usually in conjunction with internal client leadership team. Provide detailed tracking of Tasks and Deliverables associated with assigned projects. Complete and submit project deliverables and milestones and obtain client acceptance, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Evaluate the culture and structure of the organization, collaborate with client staff to establish a long-term vision and guiding principles, identify obstacles and impacts of initiatives, and create strategies that ensure successful implementation.
  • Lead endtoend journey delivery in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), including requirements intake, translation to user stories, build oversight, testing, and release readiness across crossfunctional teams.
  • Oversee content and experience integration between Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and AJO-managing components, templates, and personalization to ensure brand consistency, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Ensure platform quality and performance by driving QA processes (functional, data integrity, and regulatory checks), managing defect triage, and resolving technical issues related to segments, triggers, identity, or content rendering.
  • Enable insightdriven optimization by partnering with analysts to develop Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) dashboards, reporting, and performance KPIs.
  • Maintain governance and compliance standards, including documentation, SLAs, and adherence to healthcare/regulatory communication requirements.
  • Oversee delivery planning, handle project risks, prepare documentation, and assist in team development by supporting their commitments, eliminating obstacles, and utilizing organizational resources to enhance project work capacity.
  • Oversee and ensure all deliverables are met in alignment with the Statement of Work.
  • Develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of programs, services and initiatives. Develop workflows, dashboards, metrics and reports to provide the teams with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports for the teams and stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting, including KPIs / team-level metrics, etc. and materials for managers as needed.
  • Help implement new ways of thinking and working while creating a culture focused on value delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate professional level consulting skills, leadership skills, and executive-level communication/presentation skills. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.

  • Stay attuned to the future needs of the client and work with internal resources to identify opportunities. Participate in sales pursuits by providing strategic guidance, estimates, scoping and other pre-sales activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in project and program management required (including all project methodologies)
  • 2-3+ years of Portfolio/Program Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Organizational Design, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field (applicable education and experience may be substituted) Master's Degree a plus.
  • Proven experience managing Adobe Experience Cloud initiatives with at least high-level working knowledge of AJO, CJA and AEM to coordinate journey build, content workflows, analytics/reporting and releases across multiple teams.
  • Project Management experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Agile Methodology, Agile and/or Project Management certifications preferred
  • Experience in various Agile-tracking tools, such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow etc. and Project Management Tools such as Planview, MS Project, Clarity, Basecamp, etc.
  • Demonstrate professional consulting skills, leadership abilities, and executive-level communication and presentation skills. Show adaptability and flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Excellent creative, conceptual, storytelling, and analytic thinking skills. Strong writing, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting and independently. Experience supervising and mentoring team members.
  • Exceptional leadership, time management and organizational skills
  • Travel will be required.
