Position Overview: The Coordinator I - Early Childhood Initiatives at Central Arizona College serves as a key support role for early childhood initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with a variety of administrative, operational, and technical processes to ensure the smooth functioning of grant-funded programs focused on early childhood education.
Job Summary: The Coordinator acts as the primary contact and liaison for participants in the Arizona Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeship Pathway program. The role supports Early Childhood Education (ECE) academic pathways for the Professional Career Pathways Project (PCPP), addressing complex scheduling, operational, and administrative issues. Responsibilities include managing, compiling and reporting data, responding to inquiries from participants, staff, funders, and state leadership, preparing and processing operational documents, and resolving operational problems.
- Serves as the main contact for participants in the Arizona Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeship Pathway program.
- Manages, compiles, and maintains program-related data and information.
- Responds to inquiries from participants, staff, funders, collaborators and state leadership.
- Prepares and processes operational documents and resolves operational issues.
- Develops and maintains updated calendars for department activities, meetings, and apprenticeship program commitments.
- Collaborates with academic staff to prepare and manage academic calendars for apprenticeship pathway participants, including creating and updating templates annually.
- Supports ECE academic pathways for other PCPP scholars by assisting with scheduling, operational, and administrative concerns.
- Coordinates and oversees special projects, tracks project progress, assists with state system efforts, resource allocations, and supports state report preparation.
- Manages and tracks budgets and prepares quarterly reports.
- Tracks stipends and maintain documentation related to materials and stipend paperwork for programs and participants.
- Manages event planning and needed support documents, including tracking enrollment, agendas, handouts, PowerPoints, Excel spreadsheets, and inventories.
- Manages document creation to support programs, such as Excel spreadsheets, contact sheets, and inventories.
- Maintains master lists of committees, cohorts, and cycles for relevant programs and participants.
- Provides administrative support for travel, purchase requisitions, FAAFs/EARs/SEAs, and other related tasks.
- Performs additional duties assigned, consistent with the role's functions and level.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required, in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

- Proficient in operating various computer software applications.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including experience working with pivot tables.
- Knowledge and experience in event planning, including the use of supporting software such as ZOOM and Constant Contact.

- Proficient in providing technical support and training to participants, staff, and collaborators.
- Ability to analyze situations, develop solutions, and make independent decisions based on established guidelines.

Physical Requirements: This position is generally sedentary, though the employee may occasionally need to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Required physical abilities include hearing voices, distinguishing sounds, manual dexterity, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (for data, color, observations, inspecting), and walking. The duties may cause light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to repetitive motion or extended periods of standing or sitting.

The position demands persuasiveness, assertiveness, and sensitivity to others' viewpoints to influence behavior, change opinions, or resolve situations. Responsibilities include providing direction, consultation, training, handling confidential information, and maintaining moderate contact with students, program participants, and the public.
Working Conditions: The work is performed in a safe, secure, and stable environment, typically a general office or similar area. The position may encounter frequent distractions, such as noise, interruptions, or congested and occasionally confined workspaces, with exposure to some disagreeable elements.

This is a pension system that requires mandatory contributions from the employee with a matching contribution from the employer. The 25-26 fiscal year contribution rate is 12.00%.
