Senior Category Manager

Houston, TX - hybrid, one week in office/one week remote

12+ months

W2 Rate - $58-60/hr

Job requirements

3-5 years of relevant PSCM (Procurement and Supply Chain Management) experience
Must have experience in category management supporting technology
- Understanding tech product/service life cycles
- Negotiating with major tech vendors (Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, AWS, etc.)
- Managing renewals, cost optimization, and vendor performance
Ability to be influential and drive the PSCM agenda with internal stakeholders
Able to negotiate with suppliers at Account Representative/Manager level.
Working knowledge of systems such as Open Invoice, Ariba and SAP
Must be well versed with software tools such as Excel, Access, etc.
Ability collaborate with suppliers, individuals across multiple geographies and within the organization
Should have experience in building and executing a strategy prior to running bids.
Tenure is important, must exhibit more than 2 years at a place
This person must have been involved in Technology strategy building and executing them.
PREFERRD - NOT REQUIRED Experience in programming/understanding micro/macro economics impact on oil field categories is preferred.

Education

University Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain, Business, Engineering/technical discipline or equivalent.
High school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
