General Description Will use mig and tig welding to weld a variety of aerospace materials. Duties Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision measurement instruments and using that knowledge, layout piece parts for the welding process. Interprets drawings, specifications and all weld symbols used in the welding industry. Performs welding of metal objects using a Mig welder or Tig welder. Inspects complex welded assemblies to insure product meets both drawing requirements and specifications. Assists in the training and certification process for Welder II. Chooses the correct tools and processes based on customer requirements and specifications. Evaluates work area to identify any hazards or unsafe conditions.
