Type of Internship: Bachelor’s level MSW without clinical license supervision MA in psychology without clinical supervision About the Program: Legacy operates the State-designated Screening and Crisis Intervention Program for Burlington County, providing evaluations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis or posing a danger to self, others or property. We make it our priority to screen and triage individuals in crisis within community settings as opposed to a hospital setting. Our certified screeners and mental health professionals work together to stabilize the crisis and determine the most appropriate, least restrictive treatment option.

Provides clinical assessment, counseling, and psychotherapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups. Conducts evaluations, including mental status examinations and psychosocial histories, to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans using accepted diagnostic classifications (e.g., DSM). Delivers ongoing clinical social work and/or psychotherapeutic counseling to address mental health symptoms, psychosocial stressors, and relationship challenges. Engages in clinical consultation through case discussions, treatment planning, and client-centered advocacy, collaborating with relevant individuals and entities to support therapeutic goals. All services are completed under the supervision of a qualified supervisor in compliance with New Jersey Administrative Code Title 13, Chapters 34, 34C, and 44G. The Mental Health Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center with a focus on ensuring delivery of mental health services. Provides supervision to staff and analyzes statistical information on program outcomes. Carries a caseload, if required, supervises staff and interns, and monitors statistical information. Represents the program in the community, as requested. Responsible for planning, developing and evaluating programs to meet overall organizational goals and objectives. Provides after-hours coverage as appropriate and as indicated. Follows all PI, HR, budget, contract requirements pursuant to the daily operations related to program functioning. Services include case management, treatment, housing assistance, wellness groups and life skills training. The Support Specialist provides mental health services to adults who have a chronic mental illness in a respite setting.
