The Program Manager supervises and ensures a safe environment and works with the Clinical Team Leader and Behaviorist to establish a positive treatment program for coed youth. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of a positive, strengths-based, developmentally appropriate therapeutic milieu that is in keeping with the values and clinical treatment philosophy of the Agency. Responsible for the safety and security of the program, building, residents and staff. Has primary responsibility for budgets, scheduling and staff performance. Draws from research in the field and previous experience to independently design therapeutic musical tasks that meet a variety of needs, interests, and abilities. Facilitates music therapy groups using a variety of methods. Assesses client needs and interests as well as musical and non-musical behaviors at outset of treatment and establish individual therapeutic goals. Plans, reviews, and assesses therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness as well as aid planning for future sessions. Observes, evaluates and documents both client behavior and content of musical contributions in group progress notes, offering insight into psychological implications of music-making and verbal processing when applicable.
