Contributes to the development, implementation, monitoring, and updating of Consumers’ individualized habilitation plans; therapeutic rehabilitative skill development; implementation of Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) principles and interventions; coordinating and managing services, both mental health and physical health; crisis intervention, as needed. Provision/coordination of services aimed at active rehabilitation and support services to achieve restoration of functioning and the achievement of community integration; maintaining own appointment schedule and meeting work productivity requirements. The Allied Music Therapist will independently plan and facilitate music therapy groups, document client progress, and attend treatment team meetings. Draws from research in the field and previous experience to independently design therapeutic musical tasks that meet a variety of needs, interests, and abilities. Facilitates music therapy groups using a variety of methods. Assesses client needs and interests as well as musical and non-musical behaviors at outset of treatment and establish individual therapeutic goals. Plans, reviews, and assesses therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness as well as aid planning for future sessions. Observes, evaluates and documents both client behavior and content of musical contributions in group progress notes, offering insight into psychological implications of music-making and verbal processing when applicable.
