SummaryDelta Star Inc. is looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Assemblers. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the assembly and handling of transformer components. What You’ll DoAs an Assembler, you’ll assist higher-level assemblers in loading and unloading ovens, operating cranes, setting up stacking tables, and assembling transformer cores and elements. You’ll be involved in tasks such as applying epoxy to cores, landing coils, attaching leads, and using both hand and power tools. Additionally, you’ll help manage inventory, assist in tanking and finaling, and operate equipment like man lifts and forklifts.
A Day in the LifeAs an Assembler, you’ll work closely with your team to ensure that transformer components are assembled efficiently and correctly. You’ll help set up workstations, stack cores, apply insulation, and assist in wrapping leads. Operating cranes, man lifts, and forklifts will also be part of your role, as well as conducting pre-operation inspections to ensure safety. Throughout the day, you’ll apply safety practices and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude with your colleagues.
Specific Duties - Assist higher-level assemblers in loading and unloading ovens and vapor phase.
- Operate overhead cranes, including setup, inspection, and ensuring proper function.
- Set up stacking tables, including squaring, leveling, and placing blocks, insulation, and steel.
- Perform preventative maintenance on cores, including autos, series, and top yoke installation.
- Mix and apply epoxy to cores.
- Identify and apply appropriate blocking for coil landing.
- Select and attach leads, and cut cables to proper length.
- Wrap insulation on leads correctly.
- Operate hydraulic crimpers, cutters, and various hand and power tools.
- Assist with kiting parts and controlling inventory.
- Support tanking and finaling operations.
- Train and inspect with guidance.
- Operate man lifts and forklifts safely and independently.
What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, have a positive attitude, and can work well in a fast-paced environment. You should be safety-conscious, capable of working in various environmental conditions, and able to operate basic tools and equipment.
Position Requirements - At least six (6) months of experience in a fast-paced, production, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment, or training in the field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of transformer or electrical concepts is preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Ability to follow all safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.
- Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, oil, and vapor.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Proficient in reading and writing English, and able to converse in English.
