General Description: Responsibilities include but are not limited to; 1 - Performs maintenance and repair of all facilities and machinery in the plant. 2 – Implements and maintains a preventive maintenance program for manufacturing equipment that supports the company QMS requirements. 3 - Initiates all scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair work to facilities and equipment. 4 – Performs work as a mechanic as needed. 5 - Consults with departmental supervisors, Production Manager, scheduling and equipment manufacturers on repair schedules and production delays. 6 – Initiates Purchase Order(s) requests for supplies, repair parts or service. 7 - Makes regular daily visual inspections of building, grounds, facilities, equipment and projects in process or completed. 8 - Recognize recurring facilities-oriented failures in an effort to find solutions. Brings all problems with no visible method of immediate solution to the attention of supervisor. 9 - Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials necessary for the operation of the building maintenance department. 10 - Initiates immediate communication to supervisor when: a problem has no immediate solution; when an emergency breakdown requires more than four hours to repair; or when two or more machines will be down for four or more hours; when the assistance of engineering staff personnel can expedite the solution to an emergency problem; and when overtime is necessary to maintain the completion date of scheduled work. 11 - Participates in fire insurance company inspections and implements approved recommendations. 12 - Maintains company safety policy. Identifies workplace hazards which exist or could develop and corrects problems. 13 - Responsible for complying with EPA and OSHA requirements. Obtains necessary environmental permits to operate equipment that releases volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and/or produce hazardous waste. Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal environment rules. 14 - Responsible for complying with local fire codes and participating in Fire Dept. inspections. 15 - Comply with company rules and regulations. |

Work experience requirements: · Extensive knowledge of all production processes, activities, equipment, materials, products and personnel. · Knowledge of general maintenance procedures. · Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, heating and electrical fundamentals. · Ability to anticipate problems and head them off. · Ability to plan and supervise effectively. · Ability to prioritize, make decisions and complete assignments independently as required. · Position requires good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. |
