JOB TITLE: Senior Video Producer
GENERAL SUMMARY: This position involves assisting in the development of the Associations audio/visual communication strategy by designing, directing, consulting and producing media for the organization and its state and local affiliates. This role is 40 hours/week through July 2026. The role requires 2 hybrid days in the client's DC office.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Video Production, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated practical and professional video experience encompassing the full range of activities involved in the production of ongoing programs, crisis communication, and public outreach. Experience must include producing and directing a variety of multi-media platforms, i.e. videos, television, radio, web-based productions, script writing experience, and experience with all aspects of film and video production such as cameras, sound, lighting, editing, graphics, music and set design.
- Five years of professional video editing experience (hands-on or oversight) with in-depth knowledge of industry software such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc., and graphics programs such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Professional knowledge of and experience with multiple facets of new media (video/YouTube/blip.tv, audio, podcast, Flash), and social media (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Groupsite).
- Demonstrated experience in building effective, long-term, nationwide relationships with substantial internal stakeholders, such as officers, department directors and administrators, and staff, at the local, state, and national levels.
- Demonstrated experience in building effective audio/visual communications campaigns.
- Demonstrated understanding of the basic fundamentals of advertising audio/visual products.
- Proven ability to take complex policy data and repackage it for external users in a variety of clearly and easily understood audio/visual formats.
- Excellent writing skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Confers with Creative Director to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts to coordinate creative activities; identifies and capitalizes on creative-related strategic partnership and/or non-dues revenue opportunities.
- Conceptualize and produce media for television, radio, internet, multimedia and digital communications platforms.
- Conceptualize, produce and or oversee the creation of graphics and animation for inclusion in film production and events.
- Serve as the Associate Directors (Creative Services) strategic liaison to internal and external constituencies for audio/visual production
- Serve as communications resource to organizational leaders, staff, state and local affiliates and partner organizations on audio/visual products.
- Develop and execute audio/visual communications strategies on behalf of the organization to advance the organizations strategic objectives. Evaluate effectiveness of audio/visual communication efforts and recommend course changes for future efforts. Assess new technologies and recommend use to achieve communication goals.
- Provide advice and suggestions to clients regarding audio/video editing, digital media, advertising, and product development.
- Edit or oversee editing for video into finished programs.
- Produce video projects using a variety of equipment including computers, monitors, vectorscope, tape decks, audio mixers, microphones, routers, cameras, cables and connectors, and small handheld tools. Administer budget, timelines, deadlines, workflow and job assignments.
