As a valued crew member, the Terminal Operator at our Newington, NH Terminal will work in a team environment with leadership to optimize efficiency while focusing on safety every shift. Being a member of Sprague's terminal operations will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of operations including but not limited to, off-loading liquid and bulk product ships/barges, conducting tank to tank transfers, performing preventative maintenance & general upkeep of the terminal, and providing customer service. Operations are performed in a maritime environment, 24/7/365.
A successful terminal operator will receive on-the-job training and be eligible for promotion opportunities based on performance.

This position is on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Operations are conducted in a maritime environment 24/7/365.

Your duties and responsibilities can include, but are not limited to any of the following:
• Participating in oil transfers
• Assisting with mooring vessels
• Weighing of trucks on industrial scales
• Performing safety rounds of facility
• Operation of conveyor system
• Assist with maintenance of grounds, buildings and/or equipment
• Occasional travel to other Sprague facilities out of state
• Other duties as required

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain a TWIC card.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a general laborer
• Knowledge of basic math
• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer knowledge
• Valid driver's license
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical activity/strength requirements are demanding and may include:
• Standing up to 75% of the day
• Lifting up to 75 lbs. (i.e. steel parts, spouts)
• Carrying up to 50 lbs. (i.e. oil, parts, tools)
• Pulling up to 75 lb. capacity (i.e. mooring lines)
• Extended climbing (i.e. tank ladders/stairs/ramps)
• Ability to work in an outdoor, maritime environment in a variety of shifts

Incumbent must possess the ability to work in a safe manner and maintain a constant state of alertness as the nature of work performed within our terminal operations create conditions where a momentary lack of concentration or alertness can lead to catastrophic results.
