Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Transporting fuel from various supply terminals to our bulk plants, stations, and various customer locations in a safe and efficient manner Maintain daily logs, worksheets, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports Performs DOT certified pre-trip inspection Performs DOT certified post-trip inspection Ravens used properly; down loaded daily Electronic logs used properly, down loaded daily Comply with all company policies & procedures, health & safety procedures, Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazardous Materials/Waste (HAZMAT) requirements Wearing company uniforms and PPE in accordance with department and safety expectations Professional and respectful conduct with customers & other employees   All paperwork filled out properly, complete, legible and turned in on a timely manner Trucks kept clean inside and outside. As a member of the Lawrence Terminal Team you will have the opportunity to assist in providing general facilities maintenance throughout our high volume gas terminal  while gaining a comprehensive understanding of our operations division . Major Duties/Responsibilities: As an Operations Intern you will provide general facilities maintenance throughout our high volume gas terminal. You will acquire a comprehensive understanding of our operations division by spending one day per week rotating through the various components of operations. Shadow a Terminal Operator and learn how to dock and unload a 100,000 barrel gasoline boat, follow an operator through a tank farm and observe the process for blending products. Spend a day with our onsite Laboratory Technician where we analyze our product and learn to run a full slate of test specifications. Travel to a customer site with a Delivery Integrity Technician and watch a trans to monitor, observe how our product reaches the customer, understand first hand what is involved in a customer site assessment.  Spend a day with one of our Service Technicians to see first-hand what the Service Group does to keep our customers equipment in optimal condition. Requirements: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary school pursuing either an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree Interest in a career in the maritime industry preferred Must be at least 18 years old Physical Demands: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling Reaching, pulling, grasping and lifting Ability to work in all types of weather conditions. Job Summary / General Purpose: Terminal operator primarily responsible for operating vessel cranes during bulk discharges and, secondarily, to assist in the maintenance and repair of the conveyor system. Work hours/shifts will vary as circumstances dictate and overtime is frequently available but not guaranteed. Work is primarily outdoors in a maritime environment 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Base schedule is 40 hrs. Per week M-F (8 hour shifts).  Some travel to other Sprague facilities will be required. Will also be trained in cement silo operations and responsible for operations if silos reactivated. Interface with project controls personnel to ensure completion within budget and on schedule. Provide monthly updates of capital project forecasts to ensure expenditures remain within authorization limits. Coordinate key asset inspections including storage tank, pipeline and dock inspections. Conduct as necessary Engineering analysis either in-house or through third party engineering firms.  Respond to emergencies by providing engineering support to terminal managers.           Assist in the expansion of Sprague’s product line and support terminal acquisition and integration through due diligence, capital need assessment, expense and personnel planning and environmental compliance program support. Provide support to marketing projects throughout all phases of design, development and implementation. Greater than 25% travel required. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements: Seven years of experience in engineering or construction management within the petroleum, material handling, manufacturing, marine, or power generation industries. Specific experience in enterprise project management with direct responsibility for large-scale projects is preferred. Bachelor degree with advanced degree or professional certification preferred. Successful track record of project execution. Demonstrated ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate risks. Manage personnel scheduling to complete all required work. Aid in the identification and repair of potential equipment and safety issues in the field. Manage major repairs of equipment, utilizing both inside and outside labor as appropriate Develop, implement and control of expense budgets in conjunction with the Terminal Manager Assist Engineering in the development of the capital improvement plan including: Identification and prioritization of potential capital projects Development of capital project work scopes Generation of capital project cost estimates Work in conjunction with Engineering to develop and implement preventative maintenance and long-range asset improvement programs. Obtain and compare quotes from multiple vendors and contractors for daily maintenance and capital projects Oversee contractors involved in daily projects as well as major capital projects to ensure scope of project is adhered to. Organize and maintain all equipment manuals and facility drawings Schedule inspections of critical facility assets and keeping required certifications up to date and in compliance with all of our regulatory bodies. Maintain a detailed record of all maintenance and repair work done at the terminals. Evaluate the performance of direct reports by developing annual goals and objectives and by providing feedback throughout the year. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements: Five years of experience in the operation of facilities associated with the petroleum, material handling, manufacturing, marine, or power generation industries. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field strongly preferred.
