Lawn Doctor
Our company is owned and operated by the Norton family.  Jim Norton opened his first Lawn Doctor franchise in the South Shore in 1988.  Over the course of the last 25 years all of Jim’s four sons have worked in the family business.  The company is now run by Jim and Tom Norton.  Tom got involved in the business early on as a Service Technician and has been involved for much of the last 20 years in all aspects of the business.
Tom runs day to day operations and looks at building a successful company in the same way as building a winning team.  He recognizes that the future success of this company is only possible with the active participation and collaboration of each individual employee.  For this reason we are very selective about who we hire.  We spend a great deal of time trying to find the right people and then providing those people with all the education, training and support they will need to be successful.
Our Company is currently the 2nd largest Lawn Doctor Franchise group in the country with approximately 6,500 customers.  Our goal over the next few years is to become the largest Lawn Doctor franchise in the country.  In 2011, 2013, & 2014, we were voted the “Best of the Best” by the Lawn Doctor Franchise organization for the overall quality of our service and our organization.  This is essentially the award for the best franchise in the country.  We intend to win that award again this year and not only that we intend to be the most efficient and innovative Lawn Care Company in the nation.   Our ultimate goal is to become the largest and most well respected Lawn Care Company in New England.
We are currently in the process of a major expansion into Boston and the Metro west areas.  We are going into a very competitive region (probably the most competitive region in all of New England) where there are many big lawn care companies currently doing business.   This expansion requires that we recruit the most willing and able people that we can train into becoming the best players in the industry. 
The biggest challenge in the lawn care industry is customer loyalty.  We have never had difficulty in signing up new customers but keeping them has been a different story.  After many years of experience, we now know that if we can deliver service that surpasses their expectations they will not only become loyal but will also recommend us to others.  This is our growth strategy.  Where all the other Lawn care companies will fail causing them to struggle and remain small, we will consistently deliver a better service and we will continue to grow.
