Uber is a mobile application that connects riders with drivers at the touch of a button.
Since launching in State College in February 2015, demand for the service has grown tremendously. Residents are experiencing firsthand the benefits of safe, reliable transportation options and drivers are earning extra money on their own schedules using their own cars.
Uber is licensed by the PA Public Utilities Commission (PUC), having met the commission's safeguards on driver screening, vehicle safety, and insurance. As part of that license, Uber provides primary insurance coverage on each and every trip, with a policy that is approved by the PUC and is 28x greater than what taxis are currently required to provide. We are also part of a part of a national campaign with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), to help make our communities safer.
