Despite the size of major studios, most of the work for all tv/film projecs is freelance.  I don't know which positions held in the US Miliary will best qualify you but I do have profound respect and appreciation for your service and therefore, remain committed to giving back and helping, if only a few, settle back into civilian life with a job.

There are pros and cons to freelance work but what is required is an interest in production, accounting and strong work ethic.

I've always maintined this attitude, if a given project is a disaster... at least it wil end soon. Conversely, if a project is great, then bonus!  Finally, you're never making a long-term full-time committment and that may be attrative to many of you..  The other pro relates to advancement.. that is, it's  really up to the individual.  You are able to grow and advance at a pace thats comfortable to you.
