Position: Cable Technician
Overview:Seeking a cable technician with experience (will provide training if need be) working with various cables that include, but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, power limited tray, stranded, solid conductor low voltage, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi -mode fiber optic cables. Cable installation includes: pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling. Knowledge of Telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, and wireless solutions required (will provide training if needed). BICSI cert (current or past) a plus, but not needed. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities: · Responsibilities include but are not limited to installing, relocating, disconnecting, troubleshooting and auditing cable service and ancillary equipment in the field.
· Must follow departmental installation policies in compliance with OSHA and NEC standards.
· Must respond to customer requests and answer customer questions in a professional, courteous, and effective manner.
· Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of customer premise equipment and program services / listings in order to provide information to customers and market company products.
· Must accurately complete required paperwork including installation checklists, timesheets, service orders, vehicle inspection reports, various logs and other reports in a timely manner and in accordance with company and departmental policies.
· Must maintain, organize and stock vehicle with the proper tools and equipment in order to perform required duties.
Job Requirements:- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial structured cabling, access control, securities integration or electrical experience a plus. Can and will train if need be.
- Any applicable industry certifications are a plus.
- Ability to climb ladders and/or work from various lifts at heights of 3 to 25 feet.
- Must be able to lift, handle and carry 80-pound ladder.
- Solid base knowledge of conduits.
- Basic hand tools will be required.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Must be able to work at heights of 3 to 25 feet.
