I am currently a manager of Maintenance activities and capital project management activities in the pulp and paper industry. In my experience I have been a manager in pulp and paper, raw steel manufacturing and steel rolling including pipe and HSS, stained glass manufacturing, lumber and sawmill maintenance, nuclear plant operations and maintenance and in classroom instruction. I have worked in many industries making my experience and varied methodologies an asset to my employer. My experience is so varied that if I have not seen a better way or heard / read of a better way I know people who might be able to find that creative solution. I love a good problem to solve. I am a journeyman electrician, millwright and machinist with PLC programming, drives, optical alignment and precision alignment skills. I am steeped in RCA, TPM, SMED and RCM practices. I am good at many different CMMS progrrams. I enjoy developing asset strategies to make equipment more reliable. I am a great procedure writer and developer of PM programs. I have have managed budgets, forecasts and capital. Nobody loves the disciplinary side of things but am well experienced in dealing with difficult employee situations and scenarios and feel this is a strength. I am a no-nonsense, logical, hard working, results and solutions oriented get it done professional. I am known to be honest, insightful, creative and cooperative. My management style is supportive and allows growth and open communication. I achieve my objectives by setting goals for myself and my reports and tracking progress and providing advice. If you need something accomplished I am a great resource. I dont appreciate excuses and "that is impossible" or "we tried that before and it wont work" are taboo phrases and are not in my vocabulary.
