Benefit Counselors part-time job:

This is an opportunity for military spouses interested in working on a part-time basis as a MetLife Benefit Counselor within military bases around the country as part of MetLife’s partnerships with MSEP (Military Spouse Employment Partnership) to offer employment to military spouses. As a Benefit Counselor for MetLife you will work approximately 10 to 30 hours per month manning informational tables and/or benefit fair booths as well as attending other events such as yellow ribbon cutting ceremonies where they may be an opportunities to disseminate MetLife’s TDP offerings.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop client relationships, identify events and locations to support on the assigned base, draft reports, and interface with a variety of different levels of people both on the bases and in the local community (e.g. Dental offices). 
• Provide event support with responsibilities of manning informational tables and/or benefit fair booths; attending yellow ribbon cutting ceremonies where they may present a short TDP presentation; events may be held on weekdays and/or weekends.
• Complete and participate in all required MetLife/MSEP program learning and training.
• Develop an understanding of all the products and services, including knowledge of the MetLife organization, history, core values, client and competitive landscape.

Requirements:
• Prior familiarity with the base(s) that they plan to support, be familiar with military lifestyles and military bases. 
• Be local to the assigned location designated by MetLife. No travel will be required.
• Have good communication, presentation and relationship building skills.
• High School diploma.
• At least 2 years of working experience in customer service or sales .
• Must be able to provide proof of being a military spouse.
• Have a valid driver license and own transportation.
