DESCRIPTION
This position performs a variety of confidential and responsible administrative work under the direction of the Human Resources Manager requiring thorough familiarity with human resource policies and practices and the operations of the Sheriff's Office.
DUTIES

Enter personnel action forms for all additions, terminations, salary changes and transfers and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and properly.
Coordinate and track employee use of Family Medical Leave. Provide policy interpretation and assistance in FMLA rights and responsibilities.
Assign and edit access control to (Keri System) security areas throughout the Sheriff's Office facilities. Coordinate, prioritize and perform the taking of ID card photographs to all employees, vendors, contractors and various outside agency personnel.
Maintain and set-up security access groups and update access as needed. Work with vendors on security maintenance and problems. Order supplies and generate reports as needed.
Organize and maintain Sheriff's Office personnel files, medical files, background files and volunteer files. Update and scan/destroy files per Sheriff's Office records retention guidelines.
Prepare a variety of correspondence and reports requiring accurate grammar, data collection, entry and analysis for decision-making purposes.
Assist supervisors and employees with performance management system and probation review processes.
Oversee, plan and participle in a variety of special projects related to the Human Resources Department activities such as job fairs, fitness facility and represent section at meetings and seminars.
Assist with background investigations.
Serve as a notary public; notarize documents as necessary.
Complete various reporting procedures as required with Colorado Police Officer Standard Training requirements.
Respond to routine questions related to employment verifyaction, human resources policies, procedures and guidelines, compensation, and other related areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
