Insulation can serve multiple purposes in industrial and commercial applications. From control of condensation, to personal protection from hot piping and ducting. Insulation for energy efficiency is becoming more important as we strive to conserve energy and resources as a society. The Insulation installer position (mechanic) is comprised of installing fiberglass, urethane, and high temperature insulation on pipe, ducting & other system components. Most of this insulation will have a service jacket of some type exposed to the environment. Applications that require pipe color coding and applications that require weather resistant coverings will have a jacket of PVC or metal applied over the insulation. Fit and Finish are of the highest importance with all applications as the final product in many cases will be visible to the customer and the public. Installers are required to use a variety of hand and power tools to perform their daily tasks. Most job sites will require the use of ladders and powered lifts. Some applications will require the use of harness protection for safety. Anchor strives to work an 8 hour day within a normal site availability schedule of 6:00am to 4:00pm. There are some locations that require off shift work and or have limited time per day that jobs can be accomplished. There are some industries that require work be performed on weekends only. Anchor will always work within these schedule requirements and expects the installers to be available for this occasional site requirements. Daily routine would require that the installer reports to the job site directly from home in the morning. It is normal for some installers to not report to the office more than once or twice a week. Installers are not supervised but are expected to complete tasks on schedule and on budget. Installers receive mileage compensation based on the distance from the shop on a per day basis. Installers are required to have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
