Overview:
NCIRE's Center for Imaging for Neurodegenerative Diseases is looking for an experienced Staff Research Associate I to recruit and schedule Vietnam Veterans for a study:
Effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on Alzheimer's Disease in Veterans using ADNI.
Essential Functions:

Perform screening interviews for potential research participants, and explain study to interested individuals

Answer subject's questions, encourage and put at-ease subjects who may be reluctant or reticent

Maintain screening forms, project supplies and materials
-
Obtain informed consent from study participants
-
Administer study questionnaires and other study procedures

Issue subject payments
-
Fully document all aspects of subject recruitment, consent, payment, and study participation in subject files and database
-
Assist in data management and quality assurance
-
Contribute to overall progress of studies by performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
BA/BS in a related science or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic related scientific techniques and procedures as learned from laboratory or field research experience.

Veterans, especially Vietnam War Era veterans, strongly encouraged to apply

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree

A minimum of one year experience, preferably working with the public

Experience working on a research project and following study protocols

Strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills

Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling a variety of confidential material

Ability to prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met

Ability to successfully interact with a wide variety of individuals; especially veterans, senior citizens and individuals with memory impairment

Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Access, Excel, Word and the Interne
