A position as a Police Officer with the Wichita Police Department. An Officer's basic duty is the protection of life and/or property through enforcement of laws. Responsibilities include calls for service, preventing crime, conducting preliminary investigations and collecting evidence, making arrests and taking prisoners to jail, issuing citations, investigating traffic crashes, writing reports, appearing in court to present evidence and/or testify as required, working with other City departments as well as other local, state, and federal entities.
The work may require occasional physical exertion under adverse circumstance and may involve an element of personal danger
