This work involves responsibility for performing, under general supervision, duties related to the direct and indirect supervision of inmates, transportation of inmates, prompt action in responding to emergencies and maintaining order and cleanliness of the facility. Duties may include shift work, outdoor work, driving vehicles, and exposure to dangerous situations in and out of the facility. This work requires an understanding of adult correctional work and departmental rules and regulations.

Employees in this classification are designated essential employees, and must report to work under all weather conditions.
