John Reschar wants to make sure the word is heard: Intel Corp. has made it a priority to identify and recruit three wounded military veterans to fill one-year, fully paid jobs as project management analyst trainees.

"I have a heart for it," said Reschar, himself a Marine veteran and 17-year Intel employee who was recruited last year to become the company's Veterans Initiative Program Manager. "And the company has a heart for it."

Intel has a veterans recruitment program, but the new initiative is intended to give college-educated, wounded veterans an opportunity to get on-the-job training in project management. The company said it wanted to help wounded vets who need to develop skills make their transition back to the workforce.

The trainees will be paired with experienced project managers in various departments in Hillsboro. Reschar said the jobs, which include benefits, pay in the range of $55,000-$62,000.

In the job, trainees will manage a project schedule, track progress toward goals, provide summaries and create presentations. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, demonstrated leadership and communication skills and some experience using a computer. A job description is posted below.
