The Community Maintenance section of the Department of Residential Facilities at the University of Maryland is responsible for providing routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance services for six residence hall communities, comprised of 47 residence halls on the College Park campus. The position provides direct supervision, training, and leadership to a foreman and up to ten full-time maintenance staff assigned to service the three South Campus residence hall communities. Community Maintenance staff provide general carpentry, plumbing, and electrical services and are typically the first responders to facilities requests from students for needs in their bedrooms, suites, and apartments.  Additionally, the Assistant Manager oversees the ordering, purchase, and delivery of materials to satellite shops, assigns and reviews work to the staff, and provides or arranges for training as needed.
