General Description This job is at a Depot Level repair facility maintenance on types of aircraft, which include, but not limited to AV-8, C-130, C-2, E-2, EA-6B, F/A-18, H-1, H-53, H-60, MQ-8, P-3, P-8. F-35 and V-22. Military aviation platform experience is a plus. Duties At least two years of documented experience in Aerospace and/or Aircraft log and records procedures and processes. Provide verification to the COR of this experience during the first 30 days of performance and/or upon hiring. Review all incoming Ready for Issue (RFI) engine logbooks and included documentation for accuracy and completeness and maintain these logs throughout the depot custody of the engine. Review, screen, and transcribe into the logbook from completed work documents, the actual work performed on the engines in accordance with the CNAFINST 4790.2B. Screen for accuracy all Scheduled Removal Component (SRC) Cards, Module Service Record (MSR) Cards, Equipment Historical Record (EHR) Cards and Assembly Service Record (ASR) Cards to ensure all information is compatible with the latest technical publications and is in the format required by the CNAFINST 4790.2B. Through analysis of completed work documents, ensure that all work directed, has been accomplished and certified in all respects and that applicable changes and bulletins have been incorporated and are in compliance with the most current technical publications. Review all Technical Directive bulletins and change configuration sheets from the shop processing documents reflecting those technical directives accomplished during the processing of the engine/accessories, for inclusion in the logbooks. Furnish a completed F404/F1D2 Engine/Module Log Record Data Sheet and F404/F1D2 Engine Parts Life Tracking Sheet with every F404/F1D2 Engine/Module for the purpose of Parts Life Tracking System/Comprehensive Engine Management System (PLTS/CEMS) entry by the Engine Production Data Technician. Knowledge to interpret technical directives, engineering pertaining to inspections, modifications, maintenance and rework of engines. Have thorough knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2B and make logbook entries consistent with the guidelines of the CNAFINST 4790.2B. Have the knowledge of production control functions, reporting procedures and have a thorough knowledge of the routing system that moves components and engines through the rework process. Input and extract technical directive information and SRC Cards, ASR Cards, MSR Cards tracking information for engines and components from various computer systems and programs. Shall be required, on occasion, to use their judgment (within established parameters specified within CNAFINST 4790.2B) to interpret the specific entry required for the logbook. Must be aware of the importance of correctly transcribing information into the engine logbooks, which may ultimately affect the airworthiness of an aircraft. Omissions and inaccuracies may create dangerous or questionable conditions necessitating expenditure of numerous man-hours to correct or prove entries, or if not corrected or proven could mean the loss of life and aircraft. Duties Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as testing, troubleshooting, overhauling and/or repairing of  items such as generators, actuators, van-axial fans, transformer-rectifiers, supervisory controls, relaying systems, and related controls containing printed and miniaturized electronic control circuitry. Work from technical publications, technical drawings, schematics, layouts, or other specifications. Set up and operate computer-controlled automatic test equipment (ATE) to run established and new diagnostic programs in various operational and functional test modes to perform pretest or final checkout of the electrical/electronic and interrelated systems. Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing equipment. Repair, modify, and replace defective components using the latest techniques in basic, micro, miniature and/or micro-miniature soldering. Ability to prototype and review new overhaul and test procedures on new items being introduced into the workload. All work is subject to review and evaluation by a higher graded worker, supervisor, or a quality control inspector during and upon completion of work assignments for conformance to standards and specifications. GENERAL DESCRIPTION : Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies DUTIES: Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods. Provides timely, accurate and competitive estimate inputs, based on modeling standards, for production labor and NRE Determines the processes, identifies the materials and supplies to be used, and assist in design and fabrication of fixtures/tooling for efficient and cost effective manufacturing Creates new part numbers based on customer specifications and established standards and adds new parts into the part master file of the MRP system. Establishes bills of material, manufacturing routings, machine burdens, and new work centers. Creates assembly instructions for new products to be manufactured. Establishes customer and internal engineering change orders (ECOs), processes and incorporates the changes, and ensures changes become effective. Establishes the processes and routings to handle discrepant material, returned products (RMAs), and internal jobs to be reworked. Studies and records time, motion, methods and speed involved in performance of production and other worker operations to establish standard production rates and to improve efficiencies. Institutes changes in the production processes and/or recommends adjustments to product pricing. Performs engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications. Confers with customers and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine part specifications and recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
