HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE You will have a hands-on role in our warehouse to ensure delivery of our vast product line to our valued customers.  Load, unload, and move product by hand, by skid, or by cart. Put away all required product, including DOT items, to bins and racks. Verify products using item numbers, descriptions and quantity, and inspect boxes and product for damage or improper packaging. Scans labels into warehouse computer system. Stage product for put-away bins, overstock or racks. Consolidate racks, and move and stage totes/skids for re-use. Operate basic (i.e., electric pallet jack, forklift) and advanced (i.e., turret truck, order picker) powered equipment. Train cross-functionally in other departments and functions to support business requirements. Count and pack items, including DOT regulated materials. Fill boxes with packing material, pack and seal items, adhere shipping labels and shrink wrap. Create bar code labels using item numbers, scan and apply labels into warehouse computer system, and scan packages for UPS invoicing. Audit packages for accuracy or damage. Load, unload and move product by hand or by skid. Operate basic (i.e., electric pallet jack, forklift) and advanced (i.e., turret truck, order picker) powered equipment. Requisition ID : 875  Employment Type :  Full Time          Job Category :  Information Technology                                              Work Location :   Melville, NY (CSC)  State or Province :  New York (US-NY)      Potential Work Location :  United States : New York : Melville    BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:   The IT Quality Assurance Analyst I is responsible for ensuring that all systems and applications meet defined business end user requirements, are free of defects, and fully comply with mandated standards of quality.    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:   Validates testing using manual procedures, testing tools and database queries, as required. Interfaces with developers and business analysts to resolve software defects. Adheres to all IT and IT Quality Assurance policies and procedures. Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Assists in the reporting of software quality metrics.  Defines and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. Performs regression testing of applications as required. Involved in testing, planning, writing test cases/scripts and test execution. Effectively communicates plans and results to the functional business areas, IT development teams and management. Documents all software problems and assists in their resolutions. Addresses daily support issues with urgency and ensures that resolutions are meant to solve the root of the problem. Works closely with the Help Desk for application support, training, and problem identification. Stays current with new technologies to best support MSC.  Attends training, seminars, webinars, user groups and other events as needed and approved by the IT QA Manager as part of a developmental plan to maintain knowledge of current trends and technologies. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent experience is required. One to three years of formal system development experience preferred. One to three years’ experience with Software Quality Assurance testing using manual processes or automated tools preferred.   SKILLS:   Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Project required. Ability to analyze requirements and design suitable test plans and cases required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and project management skills are required. Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint is required. AS/400 and JD Edwards experience is preferred. Working knowledge of SQL preferred. Experience with automated testing tools, preferably HP Quality Center Testing Products (Mercury) preferred.
