*Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded and/or fit.
*Assembles and fits materials to be welded with temporary welds (track welds).
*Ability to interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
*Ability to perform welding operations to design specifications.
*Re-surface worn and defective materials.
*Ability to use an oxy-fuel torch to remove material.
*Ability to correctly set-up various welding machines (average, voltage, speeds and pulse) maximizing their efficiency and effectiveness per application.
*Ability to weld in various positions: vertical, horizontal, flat and overhead.
*Ability to perform supplemental welding operations including; grinding and heating.
*Ability to work shifts and overtime, if required.
*Ability to keep clean, organized and safe work cell.
*Ability to keep an accurate record of daily operations and material usage
*Performs other duties as assigned including mutually agreed upon objectives
*Current welding certification is needed.
*Two or more years welding experience is preferred.
*Familiarity with overhead cranes in preferred.
*MIG Welding experience
*Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
*Ability tow rite simple correspondence.
*Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and sall group situations to other employees.
*Ability to perform fundametal mathematical calculations including: addition, subtractin, multiplicationand division.
*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry-out instructions furnished in; written and diagram form.
*Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Special Position Requirements:
*In addition to the ability to peform each of the accountablilites satisfactorily, a candidate must be able to pass an in-house "welding" test administered by Weld Tech.
*Must have steel-toe boots, gloves, welding hood, safety glasses, welding sleeves or long sleeve shirt and wire brush.
