Dartmouth College is seeking an Occupational Hygienist in the Office of Environmental Health& Safety (EHS). This employee will be responsible for planning, developing and managing OSHA compliance programs required for maintenance and facility tasks as required by OSHA’s General Industry and Construction Standards. Under the direction of the Director of EHS the Occupational Hygienist is responsible for all aspects of program management and administration including project management, training and inspection activities. The incumbent works in close cooperation with other EHS professionals to ensure consistency in meeting campus-wide EHS goals and objectives. The individual must be willing and able to respond to potential emergencies after hours and on weekends as part of the College's emergency response team.
Qualified candidates will have excellent communication skills (written and oral) and demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a diverse clientele (students, faculty, staff and regulatory officials). He/She will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of occupational, environmental health and safety rules and regulations; including hazardous materials as they affect life/fire safety. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues is imperative. Bachelor’s degree in Health or Occupational Safety or an allied field (science or engineering) with a minimum of 5 years experience in EHS. Master’s preferred or related professional certification.
