General Summary:The Independent Living Skills Coach (ILSC) will be responsible for working with Eastern Michigan University students who are transitioning into independent living and adulthood. The ILSC will be responsible for implementing the Mentorship, Access, and Guidance while in College (MAGIC) for foster youth in transition program. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Assess needs of students referred to our program that aged out of foster care utilizing but not limited to, the Casey Life Skills Assessment Tools. Must have working knowledge of trauma-informed care. Develop workshops for population. Assist students in preparing individualized service plans based on the assessment: outlining their strengths, areas of improvement, short term and long term goals. Review plans monthly with each participant to monitor progress and refocus as necessary. Submit required monthly and bi-annual reports to Department of Health and Human ServicesSupport youth in all areas of life including education, budgeting/ financial management, identifying/maintaining appropriate relationships, career planning, parenting, medical/mental health, finding community resources/funding, and accessing Youth in Transition (YIT)/Education and Training Voucher (ETV) funding. Establish working relationships with appropriate and relevant campus departments and community partners to access services for youth and educate others on population's needs. Assist youth in moving toward self-sufficiency within both campus and community environments. Develop a written plan to administer specific assistance funds to eligible youth for emergency purposes. Provide eligible youth crisis counseling and intervention during business and non-traditional work hours. Assist youth to secure basic needs, such as housing, utility costs, food and clothing, as needed. Provide support and encouragement to youth utilizing group settings, such as educational and recreational activities. Develop specialized training for mentors to ensure an awareness of the needs and issues of eligible youth in a postsecondary institution. Secure and train mentors who have experience working with eligible youth. Mentors may be volunteers from the school or community. Utilize a variety of communication methods to maintain contact with eligible youth, including social networking, telephone, face-to-face meetings, texting, etc. Advisory board, outreach and recruiting, and ongoing fund-raising efforts required. General Summary:Serve as a member of the Network and Systems Services (NSS) team collectively responsible for the installation, maintenance and overall technical administration of more than 200 servers and systems running Solaris, Linux, Windows and Novell. Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and reliability of mission critical and other servers/systems that typically serve the whole population or large subpopulations of the campus community. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as an integral member of the NSS team responsible for installing, maintaining, securing and administering more than 200 servers running Solaris, Linux (SUSE, RedHat), Windows and Novell in a 24/7 data center environment.Support, implement and administer central Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Backup/Recovery systems, and storage management systems. Working with team member(s) assigned with primary responsibility for storage systems, allocate storage and administer storage and recovery systems as a routine responsibility. Implement system backup and archival processes consistent with established University practices and methods.Each team member will typically serve as a technical lead for at least one assigned operating system or storage technology and as a technical backup for a different assigned operating system and/or storage technology.Install and configure servers and operating systems, install/test/qualify upgrades, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source, and locally developed monitoring tools.Maintain and support assigned systems/servers to ensure minimal downtime and loss of productivity and service. Resolve system outages, problems and help desk incidents.
