The CCC is inviting recently discharged veterans to apply for a demanding job that combines hands-on work experience and skill training in national forests.
Successful candidates will be employed by the CCC on a crew to work on fuel reduction, forest thinning, and forestry and wildfire education projects. Fire training, safety and tool use, chainsaw training, first aid, and crew organization are included. The CCC requires participation in ongoing education.
The position is full-time, working seasonally with the USFS and continued employment with the CCC.
Graduates could be eligible for employment with the US Forest Service as seasonal firefighters with veterans preference.
