RMF Engineering, Inc. (RMF) is a consulting firm specializing in building systems and infrastructure engineering. The firm is nationally recognized for new and renovation building projects, system analysis, master planning, commissioning, and the design of utility generation and distribution systems. Fully staffed production offices are located in Durham, North Carolina; Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Baltimore, Maryland; Charlottesville, Virginia and Albany, New York. RMF was established in 1983 as primarily a mechanical / electrical engineering firm. Its focus includes two areas of expertise: 1) MEP design of educational, research, healthcare, institutional and commercial facilities, and 2) Central utility plants and distribution systems. Environmental (Air Pollution) engineering was developed in RMF in 1988. Civil and structural engineering were added to the firm in 1991. Commissioning and operations and maintenance training was formally added to the firm in 1993. Other services now include plant operations, operation and maintenance training, asbestos and lead paint testing and abatement design, emissions testing, and non-destructive testing.
