Provide centralized remote Systems Administration support to SMC Montgomery. Responsible for providing Microsoft NT and HP-UX systems administration support to over 60 servers worldwide supporting GCSS-AF applications to include LOGMOD, ARMS, and MDS as well as Medical Health Care Systems worldwide. Daily tasks include performing system security checks, system monitoring, database/backup checks, checks of open trouble tickets, documenting problems encountered using Remedy ARS, answering customer calls, capturing and analyzing system performance metrics and monitoring user activities.
Manage Unix environments, Unisys client-server resources to include executive software management, disk back-up, user services, security management, configuration management and application integration support for client-server platforms. Monitor system performance to identify and correct performance problems. Perform commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and hardware tests to determine applicability to enhance system performance. Monitor systems performance, system availability, transactions processed and user response times on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Provide daily performance statistics and workload balancing recommendations to SMC Montgomery operations managers. Analyze current and projected workloads as basis for long-range capacity planning to assess hardware limitations and capabilities for new and/or increased workloads. Provide recommended procedures for integrating new workloads onto the computer systems. All problems will be logged and tracked in the SMC Montgomery Remedy Trouble Management System. Evaluate reported customer problems and provide problem reports and analysis. Use processes, procedures, and hardware/software 'tools' or 'utility' suites such as Tivoli, HP Open View, etc., chosen and established by the Government.
Bachelors Degree required plus minimum 2 years experience or High School Diploma plus a minimum of 8 years experience required
