TCAT Inc is a not-for-profit incorporated public transit provider which operates 33 regular and one seasonal bus routes in Ithaca and Tompkins County in the state of New York. TCAT also provides door-to-door paratransit service for the elderly and persons with disabilities through a contract with Gadabout Transportation Services Inc.
TCAT bus routes serve both in-commuters and residents, with a focus on the local college campuses, downtown Ithaca, northeast neighborhoods, and key rural commuter routes. TCAT buses operate seven days a week, 22 hours per day. Routes converge in the City of Ithaca and link the downtown with the Cornell University campus, Ithaca College, and retail and commercial centers in the Ithaca urban area. TCAT moves more than 4 million passengers per year, and it is anticipated that over the next several years demand will increase for more buses, routes, and services.
