Back in 1983, Road Runner Sports founder Mike G. was determined to be the best father he could be for his three young sons and a baby daughter who was on the way. Fueled by a love of health and fitness, the Chief Runner brought Road Runner Sports to life in a San Diego garage.

From day one, it was a family business all about making customers feel like family. Even today, as we've become the world's largest running and walking store, family is what we're all about.
