Job Title: Sr. Electrical and Controls Engineer

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary: $90,000-$110,000

Reports to:  COO 

 

What You’ll Do

Sepragen’ s Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer typically holds a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and controls mechanisms withing various engineering projects. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead electrical and control system development for process installations.

·         Support electrical and control system designs, drawings, schematics, wire list, I/O list, and routing and layout.

·         Assist with electrical component selection (circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors…)

·         Electrical and Control Panel design, VFD and motor selection, Power supplies, isolation transformers, grounding, safety interlocks

  • Prepare control systems diagrams, and P&ID for process installations.
  • Integrate advanced power electronics (DC/DC, AC/DC)
  • Oversee implementation, test and troubleshoot system and instrumentation.
  • Prepare electrical schematic, one line and system layout drawing development.
  • Prepare specifications for sensors and system integration.
  • Perform engineering studies and evaluations of prototype systems.
  • Configure PLC and embedded controllers for process installations using Ladder Logic, Structured text, Sequential Function Charts for operation, interlocks and function.
  • Knowledge of database and various communication protocols- PLC-device, DCS-PLC and PLC-PLC
  • Ability to program in multiple languages (Basic, C, Assembler, Python, etc).

·         Develop sequence of operations (SOO) documents, Configuration, Communications Interface and Database communication for new projects.

·         Support existing systems.

·         Occasional field support of deployed systems

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

·         Minimum 10 years of electrical and control engineering experience in manufacturing area.

·         · Hands-on experience designing process instrumentation and control systems

·         · Experience in electrical schematic design for control circuits

·         · Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, OPC, CAN open)

·         · Knowledge of selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, PLC hardware, and servo systems

·         · Experience with stepper/servo motor controls

·         · Familiar with programmable logic controller and HMI.
Experience with design of electronic circuits utilizing microcontrollers, analog and digital devices
