JOB OVERVIEW
All Steel Service is interested in hiring a Machine Operator. Duties will include operating various steel processing machines (plasma machine, press brake, angle master, beam drilling line, band saw, etc.), as well as safely moving steel products with overhead cranes.

Although the majority of the future hire’s time will be spent in the shop, he/she will be asked to make local deliveries on an as-needed basis. (We do not intend for the future hire to spend more than 25% of his/her time making deliveries, and many weeks the time spent on deliveries will be between 0-15%.)

Safety is a high priority at All Steel Service, and the candidate will be expected to enthusiastically participate in our safety program.

The future hire will report directly to our shop foreman.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Since All Steel Service will provide the candidate training on our machines, it is not necessary for the candidate to have specific prior work experience with any of our machines. However, the candidate must have basic familiarity with manufacturing (i.e. ability to read a tape measure, ability to read detailer’s drawings, etc.). The candidate must also be able and willing to work in a physically demanding environment, as it is often necessary to use physical strength to precisely position material onto machines.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with overhead cranes will be considered a plus. A willingness to get a CDL license would also be considered a plus.
